Description

KOL Education Foundation is a youth mentoring organization founded in Solano County designed to work with at-risk youth to help them develop their academic skills, leadership potential, and to give them financial support. The members realized a need in the community to encourage students to pursue a higher education after high school and to do productive activities in the community. We have given over $200,000 in scholarships and continue to support the youth in Solano County.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to inspire, encourage, and support at-risk high school youth with scholarships.

Programs

Go to High School Go to College - Concentrates on the importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as a road to advancement. Statistics prove the value of this extra impetus in making the difference in the success of young men and women, given that school completion is the single best predictor of future economic success.

Project Alpha – A program that focuses on teen pregnancy. It is designed to provide young men and women with current and accurate information about teen pregnancy, dating, and sexual disease prevention. This activity consists of a series of workshops and informational sessions. We share knowledge to combat ignorance and fear with factual information. The goal is to provide motivation toward positive changes in sexual behavior.

Brother’s Keepers - Students visit our senior citizens in the community like widows and widowers and do small chores like yardwork or housework. This program helps advocate improving the quality of life for our elders in the community. It also give the students more respect for our seniors and is a humbling experience.
