Description

Vacaville Social Services Corporation (VSSC) has been Vacaville's leading homeless advocacy program for the past 30 years. We have two unique programs that serve local homeless adults, families, and youth. Opportunity House Homeless Shelter is a sober living work-to-housing shelter that provides housing, case management, sobriety support, and work-to-housing programming to homeless adults and families. My Friend's House provides outreach and case management to local homeless youth.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to break the cycle of homelessness for women, men, families, and transitional age youth in Solano County. Through collaborative and locally-driven solutions that connect those in need to community resources, we believe we can help achieve this vision!

Programs

Donations to Vacaville Solano Services Corporation (VSSC) will help fund two unique programs that serve local homeless adults, families, and youth.

Opportunity House Homeless Shelter is a dedicated work-to-housing sober living program that provides shelter and supportive services to local homeless adults and families. The 52-bed shelter offers warm beds, hot meals, Case Management, and comprehensive work-to-housing programming that helps support adults and families in their efforts to better their lives and achieve self-sufficiency.

My Friend's House Youth Program serves local homeless youth, age 12-24. Currently outreach-focused, the My Friend's House team conducts street outreach and provides Case Management and youth-specific programming to local transitional age youth who are in need.

Accomplishments

VSSC was excited to add dedicated youth services to our program offerings in 2019! The My Friend's House youth outreach program is slated to serve over 50 unsheltered youth age 12-24 through June 2021, and hopes to open a homeless youth shelter in Spring 2021.

In the past 2 years, Opportunity House Homeless Shelter has provided housing for over 220 individuals, served over 60,000 hot meals, and provided over 20,000 sheltered bed nights for local Solano County homeless!

Funding Goals

We would like to raise $20,000 through Give Local Solano - $10,000 for Opportunity House and $10,000 for My Friend's House!
